Our mission is to engage each student’s spirit of adventure by sparking their imagination and inspiring them to explore new possibilities, both on the water and in their lives.

PCSC’s approach caters to individuals who want to learn and practice under the supervision and safety our club provides. Our lessons are hands-on, and we believe learning works best in a supportive community of like-minded people who share a common goal. Sailing teaches us to be calm and calculated, encouraging good decision-making and anticipating the challenges ahead. We believe the lessons learned on board will make us more self-sufficient sailors and empowered human beings.

Club benefits:

When you join our club, you'll have access to our diverse fleet of sailboats through our coaching program—from monohulls to multihulls—thoughtfully refurbished by your captain to serve as ideal learning platforms. Our fleet includes an Islander 30 racer-cruiser that delivers the unique joy of upwind sailing and a Corsair performance trimaran that offers the exhilarating thrill of downwind sailing.

How it works:

3-hour sailing lesson

  • $600 per person for three 3-hour lessons (totaling 9 hours).

    Join our club sailing program and immerse yourself in a world beyond the shore. Our frequent sailing sessions help you familiarize yourself with our boats and your instructor. In our group lessons, you'll learn one position at a time while working together with your crew to navigate the protected waters of Penn Cove.

    With several destinations accessible in a single 3-hour lesson, each session embraces "creative boating"—teaching you to navigate unique adventures rather than simply sailing out and back. Our custom fleet, from basic keelboats to our high-performance multihull, offers beginners and experienced sailors adventures they'll talk about for weeks.

  • $525 for up to 4 passengers

    Experience personalized sailing instruction with private lessons tailored to your goals. This option is perfect for students who want individualized attention and a learning pace that matches their style. Bring friends or family who would enjoy sailing with you and develop your skills together as a coordinated crew.

Full day Clubsail lesson

  • $875 for up to four passengers.

    Join us for our full-day sailing lesson, where we will explore Penn Cove while learning essential skills for day sailing. Learn to account for winds and tides as we navigate to a beach to enjoy a packed lunch, a beach walk, or the opportunity to paddleboard from shore.

    This adventure is perfect for sharing with visiting friends or anyone interested in coming to Whidbey Island and returning home with unique memories and new found skills.”

Specialty charters

    Join us as we navigate beyond Penn Cove in the inland waters of the San Juans, crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca on a thrilling summer day trip. Through careful itinerary planning, we learn to use our understanding of wind, tide, and weather to navigate our destinations. We include our students in every exciting process, making this unique opportunity memorable. With multiple stops along the way, students can be involved in docking and anchoring. Our journey will likely put us through all sailing angles, allowing us to use various sail configurations and providing excellent learning opportunities for everyone.
